Here at the Museum of the City of Tunis a Tunisian artist is exhibiting his work under the title of a Revolution…and not just. Press TV spoke to the artists about the post-revolution symbolism behind his work.

The event was also attended by the Tunisian Minister of Culture who had highlighted the importance of artists in the cultural development of post-revolution Tunisia.

Tunisia and the art revolution - The Washington post

jr_tunisia_insideout-artocratyWhere once hung the images of the former Tunisian President Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali, now hang black-and-white faces of men and women, boys and girls. Regular Tunisians, the ones who took to the streets, the ones who still remain in Tunisia, which Ben Ali has since fled.

As Tunisia grapples with creating a fledgling democracy after its revolution just three months ago, street art inspired by the Inside Out project created by TED prize winner JR have popped up in cities around the country. Six Tunisian photographers have taken portraits of 100 Tunisians and posted the faces in the exhibition “Artocracy in Tunisia.”

Abu Dhabi. Rachid Koraïchi en guest star : L’ombre, le nombre, le Nom

mars2011/rk-el-marsaL’artiste contemporain algérien a fait sensation à cette prestigieuse rencontre internationale.
Le Festival d’art et de musique d’Abu Dhabi a ouvert ses portes le 19 mars 2011 dans le grandiose Emirates Palace. Inauguré par S. E. Cheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, ministre de l’Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche scientifique et président de l’Abu Dhabi Music & Art Foundation (ADMAF), ce festival a accueilli une installation des plus originales, «Path of Roses» (Le chemin des roses) de l’artiste contemporain algérien, Rachid Koraïchi, porté par l’illustre October Gallery de Londres. Promue par S. E. Mme Hoda Al Khamis Kanoo, fondatrice et directrice artistique de l’ADMAF, la réception suivant l’inauguration a regroupé des personnalités de haut rang de la diplomatie, du mécénat et de l’art contemporain.

- The Tunisian group L’Atelier D presents its lastest work developed during the recent events in Tunisia -

The performance includes dance, theatre, an installation, experimental music, video and photography which are mixed reflecting the daily pace of the new country and a significant change. A path with an open end where the word DIGNITY walks at the front with its hands held high.

The performance will take place at Casa Árabe’s Auditorium in Madrid (c/ Alcalá, 62) at 20.00. Free entrance limited by space availability, and prior ticket collection during March 23th and 24th, from 10.00 to 14.30 and from 16.30 to 19.00; and March 25th, from 10.00 to 14.30.
